Kodak's Portra 400 is a colour negative film offering smooth and natural colours, balanced with medium saturation and low contrast. This makes it a great portraiture film as it produces accurate skin tones and consistent results. Your family and friends will love the images you take of them with this film!
The higher ISO of this film makes a better choice for more dimly lit situations than the Kodak Portra 160 equivalent.
An icon of the film world, Kodak was formed in 1888 by George Eastman and became so successful that by 1975 they sold 90% of all film and 85% of all film cameras sold in the United States were produced by Kodak. Unfortunately, the rise of digital photography and later mobile photography meant that Kodak’s success diminished, ultimately resulting in bankruptcy in 2012.
Fortunately the photography side of the business continues to operate today under the Kodak Alaris name. This means we’re able to continue using the Kodak films we all know and love, with Kodak further showing their commitment to film with the recent revival of the iconic Ektachrome 100 film.
